Edgar Ocava ChuaEdgar Chua is chairman and president of Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. He likewise presides over the activities of other Shell companies.

Despite his hectic corporate duties, Mr. Chua has a firm social commitment. He chairs the Philippine Business for the Environment (PBE), Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee and is a trustee of the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP).

A BS Chemical Engineering graduate from the De La Salle University, Mr. Chua joined the Shell Group in the Philippines in 1979 and has, for the past 27 years been involved in auditing, supply planning and trading, marketing and sales, lubricants, corporate affairs and general management.

Tan Yu

Tan Yu was only a small child when his family migrated to the Philippines from southern China hoping for a better life. Settling in the town of Camarines Norte province, the lad’s father died early, so Tan Yu had to discontinue his studies to support his family. He peddled pandesal (breakfast rolls) and other foodstuff with his brother, and later on worked as a fisherman.

Shortly after the end of the Japanese occupation, Tan Yu was sent by his mother to Manila, where he worked as a store clerk. He earned P50 per month, sleeping in storage room at night. Tan Yu eventually graduated from shop clerk to salesman to distributor and later on the owner of his own textile mill. At 18, Tan Yu had made his first million pesos.

 

Manuel V. Pangilinan

Manuel V. Pangilinan (born July 14, 1946 in Manila, Philippines) is a Filipino businessman. He is the Chairman of the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company, the Philippines's largest telecommunications company, from 1990 up to the present.

Pangilinan graduated cum laude from the Ateneo de Manila University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. He received his MBA degree in 1968 from the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce at the University of Pennsylvania.

 

Manny Villar

Manuel "Manny" Bamba Villar, Jr. (born December 13, 1949) is a Filipino businessman and politician, currently the President of the Senate — the third highest ranking official of the Philippines. He has also served as Speaker of the House of Representatives from 1998–2001, where he presided over the impeachment of President Joseph Estrada. He is the current president of the Nacionalista Party.

He assumed the senate presidency at the beginning of the Third Regular Session of the 13th Congress, as part of a power-sharing agreement with his predecessor Sen. Franklin Drilon.
